40 Military Chaplains to Obama: "Persecution Coming if Don't Ask is Repealed"
by Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt
June 2, 2010
We've already delivered 126,000 faxes defending our troops. Can we reach 150,000?
More than 40 retired military chaplains have written President Obama, requesting he not repeal the 1993 Don't Ask, Don't Tell law that forbids open homosexuality in the military, because allowing open homosexuality will cause anti-Christian persecution of chaplains.
The letter was signed by retired military chaplains from various denominational backgrounds, including Southern Baptists, Episcopalians, Presbyterians and Lutherans.
After Don't Ask is repealed, "if chaplains answer such questions [during counseling sessions] according to the tenets of their faith, stating that homosexual relationships are sinful and harmful, then they run the risk of career-ending accusations of insubordination and discrimination," the letter said.
"By raising homosexual behavior to the same protected status as innate, innocuous characteristics like race and gender, the armed forces will cast the sincerely held religious beliefs of many chaplains and Service members as rank bigotry comparable to racism," the letter said.
"Put most simply, if the government normalizes homosexual behavior in the armed forces, many (if not most) chaplains will confront a profoundly difficult moral choice: whether they are to obey God or to obey men," the letter said. "This forced choice must be faced, since orthodox Christianity -- which represents a significant percentage of religious belief in the armed forces -- does not affirm homosexual behavior.
Chuck Colson of Prison Fellowship quoted the chaplains letter saying "the former chaplains wrote, 'chaplains might have their ability to freely share their religious beliefs challenged and torn away' in everyday situations. For example, chaplains administer a marriage support program called Strong Bonds, helping couples endure the stresses of military life. Should homosexual conduct be normalized, same-sex couples may sign up for Strong Bonds. But, as the letter states clearly, the beliefs of many chaplains 'would not allow them to support relationships that are both harmful and sinful,'" which would prompt charges of discrimination.
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council supported the chaplains' letter at a press conference, saying "If chaplains are forced to counsel same-sex couples or are limited in the moral teachings that they can present, you can look for orthodox Christian chaplains to exit the military.
Let's support our military chaplains today....call both your Senators at 202-225-3121, and ask them to filibuster the Defense Authorization Bill, and keep open homosexuality out of our military. Then take a stand by faxing all 100 Senators...
Just 41 Senators could block the bill, and Senate Democrats don't yet have 60 Senators to approve it, if the Republicans remain united (as they were in the House), and Sen. Collins remains alone in risking offending her own party's conservatives. Please telephone Senator James Webb today at (202) 224-4024, and ask him to join Republicans and "filibuster the 2011 Defense Authorization Bill and protect our troops against open homosexual aggression."
All Democrats voted pro-homosexual (but 26) forcing the gay agenda on our troops, and only 5 RINO Republicans "In-Name-Only" also hurt our troops, and should be challenged in primaries: Biggert (R-IL), Cao (R-LA), Djou (R-HI), Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), and betrayer Ron Paul (R-TX) voted for the gay agenda, stating "I have received several calls and visits from constituents who...have been forced out of the military simply because they were discovered to be homosexual." (As if that's not proof enough they should be discharged...)
People ask if petitioning works...Ron Paul says it does...we just didn't work as hard as they did. If we had a million petitions, instead of just 116,000, we could've flipped 8 Democrat Senators like we did against Judge David Hamilton. So our troops may soon pay the price, not for your silence, but for the silence of luke-warm Christians who didn't take a stand like you did. Let's take a stand again in the Senate, because this fight isn't over yet.
Four Top Generals were ignored by Democrats who betrayed our troops. They said:
"This is not the time to perturb the force that is, at the moment, stretched by demands in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere without careful deliberation." Gen. Norton Schwartz, Air Force Chief of Staff
"Serious concerns about the impact of repeal of the law on a force that's fully engaged in two wars and has been at war for eight-and-a-half years." Gen. George Casey, Army Chief of Staff
"I think the current policy works... At this point...my best military advice to this Committee, to the [Defense] Secretary, and to the President would be to keep the law such as it is." Gen. James Conway, Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps
"There has never really been an assessment of the force that serves....Equally important are the feelings of the families that support that force." Adm. Gary Roughead, Chief of Naval Operation
Republicans in the House can still vote down the entire Pentagon Budget if homosexuality is legalized, led by Buck McKeon (R-CA) who called the repeal "an affront to military personnel and their families," and even Ike Skelton (D-MO) voted against repeal. But Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) again betrayed conservatives, saying he suddenly wants to force open homosexuality on our troops.
The Secretary of Defense Robert Gates was forced to betray our troops, by cowardly Congressmen beholden to the homosexual agenda, who boasted of a false "compromise" to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell, (as if Gates had any choice), allowing open homosexual aggression in the military. The Pentagon released a statement Tuesday saying that "Secretary Gates continues to believe that ideally the DOD review should be completed before there is any legislation to repeal the Don't Ask Don't Tell law. With Congress having indicated that is not possible, the Secretary can accept the language in the proposed amendment." In other words, Gates opposes the repeal, but caved-in because he wouldn't take a stand to demand Congress hear our troops first.
The Washington Post reports, "If the compromise is approved, the 1993 policy could be removed from the nation's law books within weeks. That would satisfy one of the most significant promises Obama made to the gay community during his campaign." But President Obama, Secretary Gates, and Admiral Mullen must first sign off on a military review plan of implementation, which could be published in December.
In the Pentagon however, Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James T. Conway had emerged in internal deliberations as the most outspoken opponent of permitting gay men and women to serve openly in the U.S. military, according to the Washington Times.
"Most of the senior brass hold deep reservations about President Obama's pledge to end the ban on gays in the military, especially in the middle of two wars that have put extra stress on the military, down to the platoon level, where soldiers and Marines would be expected to bond with openly gay colleagues," the Times reported.
WHY KEEP OPEN HOMOSEXUALITY OUT OF THE MILITARY?
Four reasons:
1) Allowing open homosexuality especially hurts unit cohesion and would cost American lives in war, damaging the trust shared in close proximity, common sleeping quarters and showering facilities that are unavoidable in close combat.
2) Men and women do not share the same showers for obvious reasons, so why force men to share showers with openly homosexual men? This fact alone would hurt recruiting.
3) The rampant spread of the HIV-AIDS virus contaminates the blood often shared by necessity on the battlefield. Soldiers requiring blood-transfusions and medics would be immediately endangered.
4) "Gay promotion quotas" would soon be forced upon presently impartial promotion boards, causing a burdensome rise in sexually-charged "equal opportunity" complaints against commanders, especially those who offend gays by inadvertently speaking of their traditional Judeo-Christian faith.
In 1987 gay-activist Michael Swift wrote in The Homosexual Manifesto: "We shall sod- omize your sons, emblems of your feeble masculinity, of your shallow dreams and vulgar lies. We shall seduce them in your schools, in your dormitories, in your gymnasiums, in your seminaries, in your youth groups, in your movie theater bathrooms, in your houses of Congress, wherever men are with men together [i.e. the military?]. Your sons shall become our minions and do our bidding. They shall be recast in our image. They will come to crave us and adore us." [They can't have children; they must recruit ours.]
If we lose the military today, we could lose our children tomorrow, with open homosexuality taught as "official government policy" in our public elementary schools. It's already happening in New Hampshire, where new House Bill 1523 mandates that all school districts insert the terms "sexual orientation" and "gender identity and expression" into policies, and also calls for schools to integrate those policies into curriculum. If we can't teach about Jesus in public schools, why can they promote open homosexuality?
In January the Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen deceived the Senate Armed Services Committee, repeating President Obama's demand to repeal the "don't ask, don't tell" (DADT) prohibition against open homosexual aggression within the ranks of the military. "We have in place a policy which forces young men and women to lie about who they are in order to defend their fellow citizens," Admiral Mullen fibbed, revealing his personal belief that "allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly would be the right thing to do."
Sadly, the pro-homosexual Mullen has believed the lies of homosexual propaganda, and deceived himself, and now deceived Congress, all the while claiming he wants a more honest policy that discourages lying, when in fact Mullen actually demands homosexuals tell more lies to their military commanders when enlisting as open homosexuals. Here's a simple proof: Men who were created by God with male body parts are not women, and they lie to themselves, the world, and their commanders when they pretend to be, and act like, women. Women who were created by God with female parts are not men, and they lie to themselves, the world, and their commanders when they pretend to be, and act like, men.
Mullen's confused argument would permit men to deceptively act like women, and women to deceptively act like men, openly deceiving themselves, the world, and their military commanders, and boldface lying against God's very truth, that He created men to be men, and women to be women. But today's confusing homosexual propaganda equates "honesty" with men openly flaunting their femininity, and "truthfulness" with women openly flaunting masculinity. Who's really telling God's truth?
The Bible describes homosexual liars: "Who changed the truth of God into a lie...women did change the natural use into that which is against nature, and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error." (Romans 1). Thank God Senator John McCain (R-AZ) denounced the Admiral's deceptive plan as destructive to the military, but Senator McCain needs your help to fight this open perversion, and protect our troops from open homosexual aggression...
CBS news interviewed homosexual Army Lt. Dan Choi, a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point who currently faces discharge for publicly announcing he's gay.
"I think it's a very healthy thing for people to be able to tell the truth and to come to terms with who they are. I think it's a sign of maturity," Choi said, "At my very first day at West Point, I learned that the honor code says a cadet will not lie, will not tolerate those who lie," said Choi. "They didn't say that a cadet who was gay could lie whereas straight cadets didn't have to lie."
As a USAF Academy graduate knowing the honor code, I now personally confront Choi as a liar, who now openly violates his honor oath, since he deceives himself and the world, by claiming to be feminine, when God created him masculine, with a male body. LIAR. Choi should immediately be thrown out of the Army, not merely for sexual perversion, but for DISHONESTY AND LYING. The only reason he graduated West Point is that he never lied by openly claiming to be feminine while a cadet, when God created him to be masculine. THIS PROVES DON'T ASK DON'T TELL IS THE MOST HONEST POLICY, because it encourages people with sexual perversions not to openly lie about their sexual identity. But if DADT is repealed by Congress, men will claim to be women, and women will claim to be men, and the open season of dishonesty and lying will begin.
