DUMBARTON, UK: (9/28/2005)--PRIEST Kenny Macaulay appears the model of a devoted churchman - dedicated to his congregation and charity work. But in his private life, the twice divorced priest admits to being a bondage fan who buys kinky toys and porn videos from the internet.
His prized items include a fetish cross which can be hung on the wall and a bondage table, which he keeps in his garden.
Episcopalian Macaulay, 48, who plans to wed for the third time soon, admits his love life has already "raised a few eyebrows".
Episcopalian Macaulay, 48, who plans to wed for the third time soon, admits his love life has already "raised a few eyebrows".
But his secret hobby is likely to shock many of the congregation who take Holy Communion from him every Sunday.
Macaulay, who is the priest-in-charge at St Augustine's Episcopalian Church in Dumbarton, last night admitted he has a collection of bondage gear, much of it bought from internet auction site eBay.
Another item he is recorded as having bought there was an amateur porn video.
Speaking from his detached villa in Dumbarton, he said yesterday: "Yes, I have bought a few fetish items from the internet - a few novelty goods.
"And I have the bondage table in the garden actually. But it's just a bit of fun.
"I'm not sure about the porn video. My girlfriend Linda might have bought that one. I don't want to comment about that Macaulay, who describes himself as a modern-day priest, has bought three fetish items and the porn video from eBay in the past few months.
His bondage table, currently in his back garden, is six feet long and 12 inches high.
He paid £15 for it on September 2. Macaulay also bought a leather men's restraint from kinky website Leatherotics for just £4 on September 14.
On the website, it says the restraint can be used "for role play, stage performance or any other fancy dress purposes".
Kinky Macaulay also purchased a £40 wooden cross, which is described as a "fetish/novelty item".
The handmade wooden cross stands 7ft 10in high and can be wall mounted.
The video he bought is called The True Readers Wife. It is described as an amateur video of "other blokes' girls".
The film, of 50 different couples having sex, lasts for almost two hours.
The seller put a note on the item saying: "Take a peek at other blokes' girls and believe me you will not be disappointed."
Kenny also bought another item from Leatherotics but the item is listed as private, so nobody can see what he bought.
Last night Macaulay, dressed in casual trousers and a sweater, admitted: "I think I have raised a few eyebrows in this town.
"People don't like the fact that I'm getting married again when I'm divorced - and so is my girlfriend, Linda. But we're a modern couple and we laugh at sex.
"It's the best way. I don't do anything that the bishop wouldn't approve of.
"I mean, I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.
"I enjoyhavingfunand there's nothing wrong with buying these novelty bondage items off eBay"I buy lots of things from eBay, including a couple of phones."
However, after we told Macaulay his activities could be revealed in the Daily Record, he looked stunned.
Holding his head in his hand, he said: "I mean, this is something that could end somebody's career. I might have to resign and I'd never get another job again. It would ruin me.
"I'm getting married in a few weeks. I have my congregation and my work to think about, and my girlfriend Linda.
"I think there are certain people who are out to get me in this town because they don't like the fact that I'm getting married again. It's very vindictive."
Macaulay, who has been a member of eBay for three years, has been buying bondage gear for at least three months.
The website lists a history of what he has bought from July until now.
One eBay member, who did not want to be named, told of his shock when he realised that a clergyman had been buying bondage gear.
The source said: "I had sold an item to this man and I went on to the buyer's history, which is a service on eBay which allows you to see what the person has bought from the website over the last few months.
"It allows eBay members to make comments about how promptly the person paid for the item they bought, or if they were polite and so on.
"When I checked Kenny's history, I realised he had bought a porn film and various bondage items and I thought it was quite funny.
"Then I realised, when he sent me a cheque for the item, that he was actually a reverend. I couldn't believe it. I mean, you just don't expect a priest to be into porn and bondage gear.
"I looked him up on the internet and realised he had his own website.
"I was really shocked by the whole thing." Macaulay has dedicated his life to the Church. He designed St Augustine's Church's website and suggests that the church's motto should be "Take us as you find us - and we'll accept youasyou are".
On his own website, Macaulay tells readers about his love of the Church and how he supports Patrick Thistle and organises fundraising for children in Gambia.
He also lists his hobbies and interests, saying: "I enjoy stirring up debate, making mischief and watching other people's reactions. Home computing has come into my life in a big way and I have no idea what I would do without my PC.
"All my skills are self-taught, and many catastrophic mistakes have been made, but I am merely a human male who has no obvious need for instruction books or boring courses."
Macaulay, originally from Glasgow, has been married twice.
He wed first wife Audrey in 1978 and the couple had a son, Graham, four years later.
They divorced in1995, weeks before Kenny wed second wife Jennifer Saunders.
Macaulay and Jennifer split last year and he plans to wed current girlfriend Linda in the next few weeks, as soon as his divorce is finalised
