UK: Orthodox Anglicans Urge Retention of Act of Settlement to Disallow Monarchs to Marry Catholics
November 8, 2011
Dear Friends,
FROM THE EDITOR OF THE ENGLISH CHURCHMAN
This is a one-off email on an important subject. Please forward to your contacts and lobby your MP.
You may have heard that the Heads of the Commonwealth have agreed in principle that the Heir to the throne may in future marry a Roman Catholic.
This has huge implications but must first be passed by the various Governments. However this is an opportunity to call the church and nation to return to appreciate the true God who has given our country a good Christian constitution.
May I draw your attention to a new e-petition: Retain The Act of Settlement 1701.
Here is the link for the same: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/21216
I would encourage all to sign who value our freedom under God, not to be ruled by foreign powers, ie the Popes of Rome.
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
First of all I must stress that our desire for our Roman Catholic friends is not one of hostility or unkindness, but of love, that they might be saved. See Romans 9:1 and 10:1 in comparison.
Presently the Act of Settlement prohibits the monarch to marry a Roman Catholic.
This was based on historical experience and that the Popes of Rome falsely claim to have power over all Kings on earth.
In practice they use this power, not to further the cause of Christ and the wellbeing of the world, but rather do Satan's work and prosper their blasphemous pseudo-Christian empire of lies and abuse.
If a British monarch has an RC spouse then the spouse must confess his sins and all sorts of confidential information in the confession box.
This then goes to the Pope who imposes his will under the guise of being God's voice and hey presto, the Pope rules Britain.
A second problem is that the Roman Church only allows marriage to a Protestant if the children are brought up as Roman Catholics.
This is another way by which our monarchy would be destroyed.
Let us pray that God would open Mr Cameron's eyes, indeed that our country would once more appreciate the benefits that God has bestowed upon us by giving us a Protestant Constitution for our wellbeing.
May our Government once more honour our right to be governed under God's Law rather than through the deceptions of wicked human hearts.
Furthermore ths is also the only route to recover national prosperity for "Righteousness exhalteth a nation but sin is a reproach to any people". Proverbs 14:34.
The latest copy of English Churchman is included for your interest.
It includes matters relevant to this, including a report on the fascinating debate on the EU referendum to which I listened carefully for 6 hours.
