When Jesus was confronted by a group of Jews concerning a woman given in adultery they wanted to stone her. (John 8:1-11). Jews were known for behaving then like modern Islamists behave today (see the video at the end of this story.)

The real truth is that the Jews were only interested in trapping Jesus. The Old Testament listed adultery as a capital crime (Lev. 20:10). The religious leaders hoped to impale Jesus on the horns of a dilemma: If he agreed with the Old Testament law and called for her execution, they could accuse him of sedition before the Romans, because since 30 AD the Romans had taken away the Jews' right of capital punishment. If he said she shouldn't be stoned, they could accuse him of false teaching and discredit him with the people, because of what the Old Testament law mandated. Common people usually prefer harsh punishment for proven criminals. Jewish civil law had very strict conditions under which this crime was punishable by execution.

The last time I checked, it took two people to commit adultery. If they caught the woman "in the very act," then where is the man? He never appears.

We all know what Jesus did. He wrote something in the dirt. Nobody knows for certain what he wrote because the Scriptures don't say. But what he said to them (read vs 7b) is this: "Whoever among you who is without equal guilt in this specific case be the one to initiate the execution." He had discerned the conspiracy, and was letting them know that if they initiated her execution, they were also initiating their own prosecution and condemnation. They walked away. Jesus then said to the woman, "neither do I condemn thee go and sin no more."

Islam is an unforgiving religion. There is no forgiveness. It is a harsh, unyielding religion that brooks no opposition and no mercy. Jesus was known not for his love of justice but for His love of mercy: "Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy." And again, "Be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful." There is no such call for mercy in Islam.

Islam is a religion that President Barack Obama does not seem "to get." In Islam, the literal force of the Qur'anic passage is paramount.

There is a huge fight going on over the erection of a mosque two blocks from Ground Zero. One group says they have a right to build based on the free exercise of religion. This view is supported by Mayor Michael Bloomberg (a Jew) and President Barack Obama (a Black). The other group says it is offensive to the memory of those who lost their lives to a group of Islamic thugs who rammed two jets into the World Trade Center Twin Towers. A number of New York's union builders now say they will not step in to build the Mosque.

Relatives of 343 firefighters who died saving others are horrified at the thought that a Mosque will be built where their husbands died. Sally Regenhard, whose firefighter son was killed at the World Trade Center, said the president has failed to understand the issue. "As an Obama supporter, I really feel that he's lost sight of the germane issue, which is not about freedom of religion," she said. "It's about a gross lack of sensitivity to the 9/11 families and to the people who were lost."

Whatever finally happens in New York City the incident has become a noose around the president's neck. "The decision to build a mosque so close to Ground Zero is deeply troubling - as is the President's decision to endorse it," said House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio). "This is not an issue of law, whether religious freedom or local zoning. This is an issue of respect for a tragic moment in our history."

Columnist Mike McManus contrasted what Pope John Paul II did telling 14 Carmelite nuns they had to move a convent away from the Auschwitz death camp, which is holy ground.

McManus opines what Obama could have said had he been courageous. He could have affirmed the Muslims' right to practice their faith in New York, but added, "If the imam and the Muslim leadership in that community is so intent on building bridges, then they should voluntarily move the mosque away from Ground Zero." Apparently that is not going to happen.

We have a situation where nearly 70 percent of Americans are telling pollsters that they oppose construction of a mosque two blocks from Ground Zero.

Which brings us to the real question which is about the true nature of Islam.

CONVERSION

In a word don't. If you are a follower of Islam and convert to Christianity expect the death penalty. If you convert the other way 72 Virgins (maybe more) await you in Paradise.

A Pew poll from two weeks ago said this: "Roughly three-in-four Pakistanis endorse the death penalty for those who leave Islam." Furthermore in America you can offend Americans and Christians, but not foreigners and Muslims. If you doubt me, try it.

Now if you are thinking of equating Islamic fundamentalism with orthodox Judaism and fundamentalist Christians like Mr. Phelps and his church members who carry banners at TEC General Conventions that scream "God hates Fags" then think about this. As objectionable as Mr. Phelps and his church is, neither he nor the most rabid forms of Judaism stone people. Islamists can and do, see video below.

The video you will see (and children should NOT be allowed to view this) will make abundantly clear the true nature of Islam when they become the majority. It is a video of a young woman being stoned to death by an Islamic Court because she did not want to marry an old man the family arranged for her. This is not Al Qaeda or the Taliban, but Muslims following SHARIA LAW.

Now if you want to know what Sharia Law looks in one small archipelago of the world, then read what missionary evangelist and Anglican priest Fr. Jerry Kramer has to say about the island of Zanzibar off the coast of Tanzania. Approximately 97% of the population of 1.2 million is Muslim and there is an increasing drive to impose Sharia Law. "This will be horrific across the board, but especially for women and girls. The tiny Christian presence, mostly Anglicans, will be forced totally underground," he writes.

One high level Anglican cleric I sent this video to in the UK wrote back. [It is] sheer, unbridled savagery - and they want to build a triumphalist mosque at Ground Zero..... Funded by the Saudis, who are responsible for exporting this primitive ideology around the world?"

He is absolutely right of course.

Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori is on record saying she would never try to convert a Muslim to Christ; their religion is apparently just as good as ours.

Then watch this video and ask yourself a simple question, if and when Muslims gain more than 10 percent of the local population and are able to change local laws in favor of Sharia Law would you want to live in that township?
