"Since leading canon attorneys throughout the United States agree that the statute of limitations issue was more than obvious from the very beginning, why was an indictment even issued against Bennison in the first place? Why were the victims of Bennison and his brother's despicable actions and failures to act subjected to an emotionally wrenching and debilitating three and one half year experience if the end result was more than predictable?

One scenario is that the entire Standing Committee could resign in protest to Bennison's less than joyful return. Instead of the garland or lei around his neck, they could present him with a garland of razor sharp shark teeth in the hope that he will accept it, put it on and be made to feel the pain he has inflicted on others for more than a decade. Instead of Palm Sunday fronds, they could lay down spike strips to stop him from entering Diocesan headquarters.

Upset and angered at the back lash from the parish, Gepert wrote Presiding Bishop Jefferts Schori saying, "I have invoked our diocesan canon (14) to declare the parish "distressed" and taken steps to correct the problems through a change in leadership, education and business practices."

History will show that when The Episcopal Church finally collapses, they will have made a major contribution towards it.
