Sewanee is the Episcopal Church's only university and is highly thought of by Episcopalians many of whose alumni includes Bishop Gene Robinson and historian Jon Meacham.

The University of the South, is a private Episcopal liberal arts college and is owned by 28 southern dioceses of the Episcopal Church, and its School of Theology is an official seminary of the church. As of 2021 it had an endowment of $519.1 million.

In mid-December 2019 the first case of the coronavirus was identified in Wuhan, China. During the first week of January the Center for Disease Control was made aware of the illness in China. By January 15 the first American COVID case was found in Washington state. Five days later the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern and on March 11 a worldwide pandemic was declared.

The homosexual steamroller will brook no opposition. The bare-knuckle fight is on for the soul of the church. Based on the history of the last 40 years, the Church of England will succumb to the pansexual demands of a small, shrill, and strident group who have all the time in the world to see their worldview embraced, right up to and including the consecration of bishops living in same-sex relationships. It worked in the American Episcopal Church; it will work in the Church of England.

It happened again recently with the orthodox evangelical Charlie Holt as he faced the anger and rage of the homosexual mob in his desire to be the next bishop of Florida. Diana Butler Bass, a revisionist theologian, leant her weight against Holt's brief, attenuated victory. As a result, another election is on the way, allegedly based on "voting irregularities", a smokescreen to get rid of him. Holt was history from the moment his nomination was announced.
