December 21 2017 By dvirtue My Interview to be the Next Bishop of Muddy Waters, West Virginia

PANEL: What do you think of women?

VOL: I rather like them. I have been married to one for over 30 years and as far as I can make she is still speaking to me.

PANEL: What about your views of women in ministry?

December 18 2017 By dvirtue Archbishop Welby Wishes Archbishop Okoh Bon Voyage from the Anglican Communion

"The worst of it, is because you won't waffle and play nice over gay men who love each other and just want to be accepted for who they are. Where is your compassion one must ask? What's a little sodomy between friends in a committed relationship. Have you no heart for men who desire men even if the Bible expressly forbids it!

To neglect that duty or to distort that message is therefore a very serious matter and brings the messengers themselves under the judgement of God.

Allow me to expand on that. In 2007, a single orthodox priest by the name of the Rev. Don Armstrong, rector of Grace and St. Stephen's Church in Colorado Springs, butted heads with O'Neill over the Episcopal Church's moral and theological direction. He wanted out and he wanted to keep the property.

November 28 2017 By dvirtue Qualifications for being a Bishop in The Episcopal Church

A bishop must actively tend to his own interior life and is "lit up enough" (with whiskey, hence the term Whiskeypalian) for all to see and join him/her in a fifth whenever possible.

November 27 2017 By dvirtue Will The University of the South in Sewanee rescind Doctorate to Sexual harasser Charlie Rose

"I say today as I say in any forum, before any audience and given any opportunity, as I have sat in that darkened room talking to people -- that there are common denominators to the human experience, and we share a range of emotions, from hope to fear, love to jealously. Ambition and complacency. Affirmation and betrayal. Birth and death. These are Shakespearian themes, but they're also life themes and they will be the themes of your life," Rose said.
