"We are in Peru, which is strongly Roman Catholic and many say we look like the Roman Catholic Church and others say we are not. We have the best of both worlds. As an Anglican Church, we profess the mercy of God. In our human experience here, we have not experienced a very merciful Church (or God) and maybe this has confused people. Mercy is so big that anything can be forgiven. If there is something that the Anglican Church excels in, it is mercy. I love that about Anglicanism."

Probably the smartest of Anglican fudgists (my word) was Rowan Williams, who literally made words mean what he wanted them to mean and, by doing so, made sure that no one really understood what the blazes he was talking about. This meant, of course, that he was brilliant and full of wisdom. Allegedly.

Cranmer was primarily responsible for giving us The Book of Common Prayer, and the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion, the doctrinal and liturgical basis of Anglicanism. They remain today the gold standard of Anglican doctrine, according to the laws and canons of the Church of England. They are used and cherished by millions in worldwide Anglicanism.

In England, our reformers were also martyrs. They were burned at the stake for what they believed and taught.
