Today's ceremony, at which more than 100 adults and teenagers will be confirmed into the Episcopal church, is apparently designed to force a confrontation with the national church. It will be administered by, among other active and retired conservative bishops, Bishop Robinson Cavalcanti, Bishop of Recife, Brazil. The Rt. Rev. Maurice Benitez is expected give opening remarks that will declare the American Anglican Council's intent to establish separate "orthodox" jurisdictions, or regions.

Approximately 130 attended the meeting, including the Rt. Rev. Robert Ihloff of the Diocese of Maryland; several staff members from the Episcopal Church Center, including the Rt. Rev. Arthur Williams, acting Coordinator for the Ethnic Congregational Development; Maureen Shea, the director of the Washington Office of the Episcopal Church; the Rev. Susan Russell, Executive Director of Claiming the Blessing; and the Rev. Michael Hopkins, former president of Integrity.

The Mission of the church is “To Proclaim The Uncompromised Gospel Of Christ.” The group had it's first worship service on the 4th of January 2004 at the Midwest City community center, located at the corner of Midwest Blvd. and Reno Street in Midwest City, Oklahoma. The first service was attended by about fifty who are committed to the course of the new mission. Subsequent services have been described as uplifting , powerful, and reassuring.

The bishop is a nonvoting member of the council, and while several others among the council's 30 current members also were absent, Duncan has missed numerous diocesan-related meetings during the past several months because of his involvement with the new network.
