Archbishop of Canterbury launches a new Anglican Church territory and visits Egypt next October

The Anglican Episcopal Church of Egypt is preparing for the inauguration ceremony of the Alexandria Territory of the Anglican Church in the first week of October in the presence of Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, the spiritual leader of the Anglican Communion.

For his part, Dr. Sami Fawzi, Archbishop of Alexandria, said to the Episcopal Church in a statement today: The visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury is a historic and global event where Welby ranks first after the royal family in ordering ceremony and ceremonies according to English tradition.

Fawzi explained that his visit comes to launch the No. 41 region of the world's Anglican Episcopal Church, which has the name of Alexandria, due to the prominent position of Alexandria in the ancient Christian world, playing a pivotal role in heritage and heritage. The global Christian thought that the region would include 10 countries, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Chad, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia and currently headed by Egypt.

The archbishop said that Egypt's presidency of the Alexandria region of the Episcopal Church comes due to the role of the church in serving refugees and its remarkable programs in the field of the Christian Islamic dialogue considering the territory's presidency contributes to supporting the Egyptian state's policies to take care of the African continent.

The Archbishop of Alexandria has confirmed that the inauguration ceremony is witnessing the presence of a few archbishops of the Anglican Church around the world and is receiving global media attention and the Episcopal Church in Egypt has called for top statesmen and public figures.

Archbishop of Canterbury to launch new province for the Anglican church in upcoming Egypt visit

The Archbishop of Canterbury and the spiritual leader of the Anglican church worldwide, Justin Welby, will launch a new province for the Anglican Church in his upcoming visit to Egypt first week of October.

"The visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury is a historic event with an international importance, given Welby's position succeeding the United Kingdom's royal family in official ceremonies according to English tradition," Sami Fawzi, Archbishop of Alexandria Anglican Diocese, said in a statement on Tuesday.

Welby will launch the Anglican Church's province number 41, titled the Alexandria province, given the city's important position in the ancient Christian world. It played a significant role in enriching the global Christian thought and heritage. The area will include ten countries: Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Chad, Ethiopia, Eretria, Djibouti, Somalia. Egypt currently heads the area.

Egypt has become the main seat of the Anglican Church's province in Alexandria due to its role in serving refugees and its efforts in Islamic-Christian dialogue. The church's position in Egypt also supports the Egyptian state's policies to reinforce its relationship with the African continent.

The October 8 ceremony will be attended by many archbishops of the Anglican church worldwide, as well as leading state officials and public figures.
