August 02 2011 By virtueonline British institutions: The Church of England

This was not an especially controversial Synod. The Church's two (literally) sexiest issues were both, very temporarily, off the agenda: women bishops and gay priests. The press officers seemed a bit surprised that I had nothing better to do with my own Saturday night.

July 28 2011 By virtueonline Gallup: majority of Americans support new pro-life laws

Americans also favor 24-hour waiting period laws, 69 - 28 percent.

Another 64 percent also support laws banning "partial birth abortion" in the last six months of pregnancy, except to save the mother's life. Just 31 oppose such laws.

Half of those polled (50 percent) said they support laws requiring women to be shown an ultrasound of their unborn child at least 24 hours before an abortion.

Americans are more narrowly divided over other abortion restrictions.

One newspaper published a photograph of the Pope in full regalia, with "Persona Non Grata" superimposed on his image.

July 27 2011 By virtueonline Radical Homosexuals at War with God and Reality

At DakotaVoice.com, my Editor, Bob Ellis, and I, along with various other authors, regularly write about the dangers to America's moral and cultural fabric that the radical homosexual movement represents, not to mention the dangers posed to the homosexuals themselves by that wretched lifestyle. Invariably, the homosexual activists come rampaging onto the comment sections of the columns we write with their terrifically venomous "contributions."

July 26 2011 By virtueonline Never, never, never give up: the defense of marriage today

Yes, same-sex "marriage," so-called, poses a grave threat to religious freedom. There have already been cases where photographers and others have been sued for refusing to participate in same-sex "wedding" ceremonies. Catholic Charities in several states has been pushed out of the adoption business because they only place children with a married mom and dad. Make no mistake: protecting religious freedom is a major priority.

July 24 2011 By virtueonline On the Norway Massacres

So let me offer a few preliminary thoughts, bearing in mind that more light and information about this act of evil will be forthcoming in days to come. As far as a general Christian apologetic on all this (why does God allow evil?), I won't - and can't - presume to solve that issue here.

July 23 2011 By virtueonline The Chilling of Our First Amendment Rights

The minority very much hoped to call a witness today at this hearing to testify in support of DOMA. I am sure she would have done an excellent job.

She declined, however, citing as one reason the threats and intimidation that have been leveled against not only her but her family as a result of her public support for DOMA. She will continue to write on this subject, but will no longer speak publicly about it. This chilling of First Amendment rights is unacceptable.

July 23 2011 By virtueonline Broken Promises

The second is the condom code. The supporters of condoms as the primary prevention method insist that any program be "sex positive". In other words, there is no need for anyone to change their sexual behavior as long as they use a condom every time. This is a risk reduction strategy since new infections would not be eliminated, only reduced, given the known failure rate of condoms and the fact that even the most motivated sexually active persons rarely achieve 100 per cent usage.

July 22 2011 By virtueonline UK: Trevor Phillips and the equality question

Despite this plain public statement of values, gay activists and civil partners Martyn Hall and Steven Preddy, possibly with the active collusion of Stonewall gay rights organisation, went to the hotel in September 2008, tried to book a double room and unsurprisingly were refused. In December 2010 Hall and Preddy, backed by the publicly-funded Equalities and Human Rights Commission, sued the Bulls on the grounds of sexual discrimination.

July 20 2011 By virtueonline The Homosexual Agenda is Advanced Step by Step

Having put up essentially no resistance to Catholic in name only New York Governor Andrew Cuomo .. the Church in New York now sees the next brick being taken out of the wall.

Fresh from his victory lap where he outmaneuvered the snoozing New York bishops in getting so-called gay marriage made into law .. he is now continuing to advance his agenda.
