Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans New Zealand calls for Episcopal Nominations
Nominations close 5pm 10 April 2019 (NZT)
GAFCON press release
March 31, 2019
The Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans Aotearoa/New Zealand is a new Diocese in New Zealand.
Because of the rejection of the authority of Scripture by the Anglican Church of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia at the 2018 General Synod, a number of parishes and individuals have chosen to disaffiliate from ACANZP and gather together in 12 parishes to form a new expression of Anglicanism.
As a Christ-centered church in the historic Anglican faith and order, we are calling for nominations for our first Bishop. We are seeking a person who has a desire to serve as our Bishop, and is willing to submit their sense of God's call to the prayerful deliberation of the Synod. Initially this position will be part-time (50-75% FTE with pro-rata stipend and allowances), with the precise extent of the role to be negotiated, taking into account the specific skill-set of the successful candidate and the funds available. There is a recognition that the extent of the role may change as the Diocese grows.
The criteria for nomination is a person ordained as an Anglican priest/presbyter or bishop, who has had at least five years' experience in full time ordained ministry. They will lead the Church to fulfill its purposes as set out in our Constitution.
While nominees may be outside New Zealand, nominations must be made by members of the FCAANZ Synod. For more information about the position, including the nomination process, please contact daveclancey@gmail.com
