The Rt. Rev. Jackson Ole Sapit was elected on 20th May, 2016 as the 6th Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi. The news of his election was shortly announced by the Provincial Dean Rt. Rev. Joseph Wesonga. The incoming primate was elected by an Electoral College of 191 delegates from the 38 episcopal Dioceses from across the country. The Archbishop elect was nominated from among five other equally abled and competent candidates. They include: Julius Wanyoike, Joel Waweru, Moses Masamba, James Ochiel and Lawrence Dena.

The new primate, who will also double up as the Bishop of the All Saints Cathedral Diocese, will succeed the outgoing Archbishop the Most Rev. Dr. Eliud Wabukala who is due to leave office in the month on June.

The Most Rev. Dr. Eliud Wabukala will now join the growing list of the Archbishops emeritus. They are Festo Olang; Manases Kuria, David Gitari, and Benjamin Nzimbi.

The new Primate will be enthroned on the 3rd July 2016.

Bishop Jackson Nasoore Ole Sapit was born on 12 June 1964.

He is a family man. He was baptized in 1977. From 1973 to 1980, he attended Rotian Primary School for his Certificate of Primary Education. (CPE).

From 1981 to 1984, he attended Narok High School for his ordinary (O) level. Bishop Jackson Ole Sapit was confirmed in 1985. From 1987 to 1988, he worked as an Evangelist/Community Motivator at ACK Narok. In 1989 to 1991, he attended Berea Theological College for his Diploma in Theology. In July 1991, he was made Deacon. A year later, in July 1992, he was Ordained Priest.

From 1992 to 1994, he was Vicar, Belgut Parish-ACK Diocese of Nakuru. From 1994 to 1997, he did his Bachelor of Divinity at St. Paul's University. In 1999, he did his Certificate in Research/Consultancy at Daystar University.

From 1997 to 2002, he was Vicar/Project Manager at Transmara Rural Development Programme in Kilgoris Parish. He did his M.A. in Social Development and Sustainable Livelihoods at University Of Reading UK in 2002 to 2003. In 2012, he attended Global University for Life- Long Learning California, USA for his Honorary in Doctor of Professional Studies.

From 2003 to 2004, he was the Diocesan Mission and Development Coordinator Diocese of Nakuru. From 2005 to 2007, he served as Suffragan Bishop Kericho area Bishopric ACK Diocese of Kericho and from 2008 to date he is the Diocesan Bishop ACK Diocese of Kericho. As a Bishop, he has managed to nurture the young Diocese of Kericho in all spheres namely spiritual and community development. He has mobilized resources both locally and internationally that have enabled transform communities way of life in food security and economic empowerment. He has spearheaded the establishments of health clinics in the Diocese. He has from time to time been called upon to manage conflicts within the church and community at large. He is passionate with matters of sustainable developments. Rt. Rev. Jackson Nasoore Ole Sapit has also served in other dockets.

From 1997 to 2002, he served in the Standing Committee of Synod - Nakuru Diocese and the District Development Committees (Transmara). In October 2001, he served as an Evaluator to asses the impact created by Nakuru Southwest Development Programme.

From 1999 to 2002, he served in the Provincial Education Board (Rift Valley) and also as the Diocesan Youth Chairman - Nakuru Diocese. In 2004, he had various responsibilities. He served as the Diocesan Youth Chairman and also served in the Diocesan Board of finance-Nakuru and in the Diocesan Board of Social Services-Nakuru. In 2008, he served as the Chairman of Narok Integrated Development Board. From 2011 to 2015, he was a member of Church Army Africa Board.

From 2013 to 2016, he became a member of Beacon Africa Board. From 2012 to 2015, he became the Chairman of ADS Kenya Board.
