GAFCON will not break fellowship with Canterbury, but they won't take their orders from Lambeth Palace about how they do business, either.

"At the present time, both the ACA and the APA have agreed to hold concurrent synods at a common location in October, 2014. These synods will bring our two jurisdictions together for worship and fellowship. Business sessions will be held separately, as is appropriate to individual jurisdictions."

The bishops explained this was being done "in an atmosphere of mutual support and cooperation."

For the more than 1300 evangelically driven GAFCON delegates here who are several decades older, the singing of Stand up, stand up for Jesus, are words with meaning, especially in the face of bitter persecution. There was no equivocation, no second-guessing, or no doubts.
