A news release from the Anglican Alliance cites Williams saying that while we (Anglican Communion leaders) cannot agree on doctrine that should not stop us helping the poor. This new Alliance will cost £400,000 ($636,638) a year for three years and be London based. According to the Anglican Communion Office, this recommendation reflects the urgency to combat the scandal of poverty requiring concerted and coordinated Communion action.
