MALAWI: Anglican Bishop Excommunicated
Confirming the development in a separate interview yesterday, chairperson of the Anglican Council in Malawi Bishop Alinafe Kalemba said the archbishop has appointed Vicar General Canon Grant Tebulo as the acting leader of Adus.
"Canon Tebulo will be overseeing the welfare of the diocese for now and he will be reporting to the Archbishop Chama," he said.

ACNA Bishop Stewart Ruch, accused of spiritual abuse, ends voluntary leave
Ruch stepped away from leadership in July of 2021, after admitting he had made "regrettable errors" in responding to allegations of sexual abuse by a lay minister in the diocese.
He and other leaders failed to act quickly on allegations against lay minister Mark Rivera, who is currently facing trial for felony child sexual abuse, according to a third-party review released in September.

We agonized at the news that our brothers and sisters in Uganda, having had a devastating
experience of COVID-19 and a tragic famine, claiming far too many lives, are now dealing
with an outbreak of Ebola in four areas of the country. We prayed with Ugandan Archbishop
Stephen Kaziimba who was present in our meeting, and we also prayed for our brothers and
sisters in Uganda who are struggling under these circumstances.

Church of Ireland's Archbishop of Dublin "Hobbled" By Diocesan Synod
The Irish Times is the most widely read newspaper amongst members of the Church of Ireland in the Republic. This dates back to the time of Irish Independence. Most Church of Ireland and Presbyterian Church of Ireland members supported the treaty negotiated by Michael Collins, as did the paper. The majority Roman Catholic population were split in their opinions. Since then, the Irish Times has been considered the paper of record by Protestants in the Republic.

Communique from the Australian Bishops after meeting Archbishop Justin Welby
Following the respectful and constructive conversations at our meeting in Adelaide in March, the bishops of the Anglican Church of Australia agreed that the work of deepening and strengthening relationships and trust across the national church required more regular opportunities to be together: to that end the Primate invited us to meet in Melbourne, 10-12 October.

Appointment of Dean of Canterbury Cathedral, England - "Archbishop of Canterbury Shuts the Door of the Cathedral to Orthodox Anglicans"
The announcement is particularly wounding to our Orthodox Provinces because Canterbury Cathedral has traditional significance as the birthplace of the world-wide Anglican Communion. It feels as if the present ABC has shut the door of the Cathedral to orthodox bishops, clergy and members of the Communion.

In her long running battle with the former dean the bishop was forced to face allegations of bullying after it was decided that she had a case to answer. The allegations were subsequently withdrawn.

Archbishop of Canterbury in Australia: Church is shamed by past and present divisions
On Sunday, Archbishop Welby preached at a service of evensong in St Paul's Cathedral, Melbourne, to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the diocese of Melbourne. The service was also attended by the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne, the Most Revd Peter Comensoli: the Roman Catholic diocese was founded in the same year, 1847.
