Nigeria is a country that is richly endowed with highly skilled human, natural, and mineral resources, a country with a huge contribution to make on the world stage.

The bishops are particularly grieved by the security, economic, religious and political challenges faced by Nigeria and Nigerians. Nigeria remains a regular prayer point for the prayers of bishops across the Communion.

This reporter was privileged to be able to ask a question.

The two-part question I asked was: What is the greatest achievement of this Lambeth Conference; and what has been its greatest failing?

The other two bishops in the news briefing included: Eleanor Sanderson, the bishop assistant of Wellington. She is one of five women bishops in New Zealand. Archbishop Ng Moon Hing, the former primate of South East Asia, participated in the briefing.

A question came up from one of the reporters about clericalism in the church.

The Presiding Bishop answered: "When the self gets in the center and Jesus is pushed out, the church is just another organization among many others."

Of the growing number of signers, more than half are from The Episcopal Church in the United States of America; others are from the Anglican Church of Canada, the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil; the Anglican Church of Australia, the Church in Wales, the Anglican Church in New Zealand, the Scottish Episcopal Church, the Church of England, the Church of Ireland and the Anglican Church of Mexico. More than one third of the signers are women bishops.
