The Sept. 15 event will feature a mass choir, confirmation candidates from 11 churches in Northern Virginia and former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey, who will place his hands on the heads of each person being confirmed as an adult Christian.
Truro Episcopal Church in Fairfax will split the confirmations into two evening services to accommodate 200 to 300 confirmands, their guests and dozens of musicians and clergy.

In protest, Wilson applied for acceptance as a priest in the Anglican Diocese of Bolivia and was granted that recognition.
"It was a way to resolve conscience," Wilson said.
Wilson said he had hoped he would be allowed to function as a visiting Anglican priest in Alabama Episcopal churches, but that request has been denied by Episcopal Bishop Henry N. Parsley. "I wanted to be treated like a priest from another diocese," Wilson said.
