According to Dr. Davie, "The New Testament's emphasis is not on people learning to live with what divides them, but learning to live out what unites them." The New Testament teaches that reconciliation with one other flows from reconciliation with God through repentance and faith in the gospel message. It does not make sense to call for reconciliation in the Church while, at the same time, accepting behavior the Bible says excludes people from the Kingdom of God unless they repent.

It seems that TEC's attorneys, ever since they lost the case on appeal (and the Illinois Supreme Court rejecting their petition for review), have been trying to prevent the plaintiff Anglican Diocese and its Bishop Alberto Morales from enjoying access once again to the bank funds which TEC's attorneys caused to be frozen (by writing a threatening letter to PNC bank which held the funds) some six years ago.

In their conversations, Porter admitted that the Pilling Report was an "ill-conceived exercise...because it was formulated by a male only group." It was marked by a lack of coherence and incompetence in the Church, he added.

VOL: If the bishop plans to spend millions more dollars taking it to a "higher level", he will only do so by having to sue again for more money from The Church Insurance Company of Vermont or did he get enough the first time round to continue the fight. He won't say, but he clearly says he will continue fighting even though there is no expectation that the Supreme Court will even hear the case and, if they do, that that they will reverse the lower court rulings.
