Dr Randall, 48, had delivered a sermon in which he told pupils they were allowed to disagree with the school's new LGBT policies, particularly if they felt they ran contrary to the Church's principles.

The school decided Dr Randall's sermon was 'harmful to LGBT' students and referred him to Prevent, although a police probe ruled the chaplain posed 'no counter-terrorism risk, or risk of radicalisation'.

The study found that "as a country's commitment to pluralism rises," the number of Christians also increases. Pluralism forces Christians "to present the best arguments possible" for their faith, competing with other beliefs.

The paradox is observed in Asia and Africa where Christianity grows the fastest.

The priest who was beaten was the Rev. Simon Peter Olato, and the lay leaders are Benjamin Otasuro and Peter Eriku of St John's Church of Uganda Wera in Teso sub region in eastern Uganda. The neighbouring school is Wera Seed Secondary School.

The attack reportedly left the priest and lay leaders bleeding. The minister claims the church encroached on the school land he lobbied for.

Among the report's findings were that The University of the South in Sewanee had 177 liquor law violations or 66.1 per each 1,000 students while The University of Tennessee at Knoxville had 70 or 2 per 1,000 students. Middle Tennessee State University had 10 for 2019.
