Bertram Nelson Herlong was elected 10th Bishop of Tennessee January 30, 1993. He is the 882nd Bishop in the American Succession. From 1993 through 2001, membership has increased by 13.6% and pledged giving to congregations has increased by 59%. Since 1995, the diocese has planted 6 new congregations.
