Calling Muslim guests to the church "angels", the Bishop later took to her official blog to explain that removing Christian symbols from the church and preparing the building for Muslim prayer doesn't make a priest any less a defender of the faith. Rather, to do any less would make one "stingy towards people of other faiths".

The ceremony is expected to draw approximately a thousand invited guests to campus including church leaders, alumni, friends, chapel artisans, and builders. The event marks the official completion and blessing of Immanuel Chapel. The Chapel, designed by New York-based Robert A.M. Stern Architects, was built to replace the Seminary's 1881 Chapel that was destroyed by fire in October 2010.

"The church building that we were in cost $6 million to build, and the land alone would be $15 million," she said.

Voorhees said Bruno wanted the congregation to drop its complaint in exchange for the $1 million.
